The Carnival is here again and we are hoping that some nice summer weather makes an appearance (even though on Wednesday we ‘Bless the Wells’, which is a traditional ceremony, giving thanks for our water.)
With so much happening over Carnival Weekend we feel there will be events for everyone in the village, as well as all the visitors are welcome.
So why not come and join in the fun and celebration of village life and traditional family entertainment. Everyone is invited
Before the parade, do make sure that you visit the Well Dressings and also the wonderful flower arrangements in St Lawrence Church.
On your way, look out for those famous scarecrows which may be hiding anywhere! See how many you can find.
Don’t miss the parade of floats, fancy dress, Castleton Silver band and visiting Royalty which starts at Springfield Road at 2pm, progressing through the village and finishes at the Recreation Ground, ready for the afternoons entertainment which includes the wonderful collection of classic vehicles, artisan craft stalls, Commonside Alpacas, Fun Bus, Bouncy Castle, Kimmo children's entertainer.
Whatever the weather – have fun, stay safe & see you again next year!
